Soda can tabs on necklaces?
Is there a meaning to these can tabs, off of energy drinks, worn as a necklace. I heard from a friends mom there was and now I'm curious.

First of all, nobody has ever received chemo or dialysis sessions from pop can tabs, NEVER. The billing department at a hospital does not have a tab to dollar conversion chart. Such sessions are paid for by Insurance or Government Medical programs. The medical centers which accept tabs take them to the scrap yard where they are accepted as scrap aluminum (national average at this time due to the recession, 16 cents a pound, which is about 1,538 tabs), the funds received are then just thrown at some of the hospitals expenses.
Now to answer your question, my 12 year old step daughter has just informed me that there is indeed a fad of wearing a variety of energy drink tabs on bracelets, but that there is no special meaning behind the various tabs, just a goal of having a tab or two that nobody else has.
